DRV2511-Q1: Clarification on Datasheet-2

Hello everyone,

I´d like to ask experts to provide extra information about this part.

1. Is there derating curve of peak current with time? I'm interesting in 30ms peak.

2. Is it the recommened part for new developing? It's a litte bit strange that datasheet was not update even it consists wrong description from DRV2510 like NRST pin.

3. I undestand correctly that this part doesn't provide feedback and speed of motor is controled by pre-calculated PWM. So, for speed control, R sense should be used in serial with motor or to GND.

4. From previous question towards DRV2511 it was said that Rds on is 120mOhm at high temperature (60mOhm at 25). Is it resistance of one Mosfet, p- or n-channel, whatever?

Hi Sergey,

1. We do not have a curve for this, but this device can drive 8A for 30ms with no problem.
2. Yes, these are recommended. Thank you for pointing out the typo with the EN and NRST pin. We will fix this.
3. Yes, you need independent sense circuitry.
4. This is the resistance of two n-channel Mosfets in parallel.

Hi Kelly,

thank you for your quick answer.

Regarding fixing, it looks like there is a mistake in Figure 4. BD Mode modulation, "Negative Output" part. OUT+ and OUT- should be reversed, aren't they?

I have one more question, BD mode always is active and its maximum PWM only up to 96%. Is it correct?

Hi Sergey,

Yes, the "negative output" figure should have OUT+ and OUT- switched.
The BD is always active. Let me check on the 96% max number.

I confirmed that the maximum duty cycle is 96%.
