We use DrV8701 to drive an H-Bridge for a DC brushed motor. Our device has two supply rail one (U1=12-13.8V) for supplying the logic controller the other for high power side (12-36V). We build 5 boards and one of them has been used une der hard conditions (heat stress test), 3 others have been installed in normal environnements since about a year. suddenly one of them fails. (H Bridge fault), We change it and two weeks later, it fails again. It may come from a power loss on the high power side. Therefore in order to enhance protection we imagine to add a TVS on the dcmotor supply rail. Is it a good option?
If yes do you have any reference to advice to support 12-36 voltage operation?
