DRV2510-Q1: BD mode modulation

Part Number: DRV2510-Q1

Hi team,

In the DRV2510-Q1 datasheet page.9, there is a description about BD mode modulation.

Is there any settings in DRV2510-Q1 to automatically switch in BD mode?

Or do I need to prepare BD mode modulation pattern and provide it to DRV2510-Q1?

regards,

  • Hi Shinji,

This section describes the output PWM modulation. DRV2510-Q1 uses a BD modulation and can't be changed.

  • Thank you for the response.

What is the BD modulation frequency?

I checked the OUT+/- waveform using DRV2511EVM, but I could not see BD modulation. (It might be filtered out by RC on the EVM. I will double check.)

By the way, below is the figure in datasheet page9. It looks the OUT+/- waveform is same for both Positive and Negative Output.

    Is this correct?

    regards,

  • Hi Shinji,

The oscillator frequency can be 400kHz or 500kHz. The oscillator frequency should be selected with the FREQ_SEL bit in the register 0x03.
When an input signal is not sent to the DRV2510-Q1 the duty cycle is 50% in both outputs (OUT+/-) and the differential output would be 0w.
When an input signal is sent to the device the duty cycle changes in both outputs and the differential output would be different from 0W.
