DRV8302: query regarding the nOCTW and nFAULT Pin

Hi,

Below is a query from customer regarding the nOCTW and nFAULT Pin.

IN their circuit, The M_OC pin is connected to ground, i.e DRV is in Current limit Mode. When an Over current event occurs, the nOCTW pin goes low, but after that the event nFAULT pin also goes low.

As per the datasheet when DRV is in Current limit mode the OCP event is reported by nOCTW pin and nFAULT pin remains high, but in this case it goes low for 760uS Irregularly.

Can you please suggest the possible reason.

Hi Naveen,

Have you used the Fault and Warning Reporting and Handling Table to help isolate why you have observed this behavior?

One possible cause is OTSD_GATE.

Please monitor the currents and signals around the device to determine if the device is entering thermal shutdown.
