DRV8886AT: Detecting stepper motor 2 by Back EMF

Part Number: DRV8886AT

Hello,

I am using your stepper motor driver, DRV8886AT, to drive stepper motor 1 and want to detect stepper motor 2 by Back EMF. Motor 1 and motor 2 are contacted by a gear. Do we have a devices for this application?

Regards,

David

  • David,

The EMF detection circuit is on motor drive's output which is connected to the motor winding. If two motors are contacted by a gear, not paralleling on the DRV8886AT output, DRV8886AT can only sense what it drives: motor 1.
I think I can understand your requirement. But, I don't know we have a part to support it. You may have to build your own EMF detection circuit for motor 2.
