DRV8305-Q1: The Usage of CS Amplifier

Part Number: DRV8305-Q1

Dear, Sir.

My customer is evaluating DRV8305-Q1 for their system.

They are asking about the usage of CS amplifier as followings.

Please give your advice.

1. They would like to measure the current flow just focusing from motor

to GND. Is there a method to use unidirectional?

2. This is a kind of double-confirmation. Is it possible to swap the connection

    SP & SN?

Best Regards,

H. Sakai

  • Hello,

    1) Yes, this can be achieved by changing the VREF scaling value. By default, this value is set to "2", so the output of the CSA when the input is 0 will be VREF/2. By changing this value to "8", the shift voltage will change to VREF/8, allowing more room for positive output swing.
    2) Yes, SN/SP can be hooked up in either order.

    Thanks,
    Garrett
