DRV8823: DRV8823 - Is a clamping (flyback) diode required?

Part Number: DRV8823

Hello,

I'm using the DRV8823 to control brushed DC motors and solenoids (inductive loads).  Does the DRV8823 require clamping (flyback) diodes to protect itself when the load is turned off?  I have seen other TI motor/solenoid drives specifically stating a clamping transient diode is built in, but I don't see any reference to this in the DRV8823.  I have the demo board DRV8823EVM that I have connected to the motors without any problems and it doesn't appear the schematic for the DRV8823EVM has clamping (flyback) diodes.

Thanks,

Cody
