DRV8832: DRV8832

Part Number: DRV8832

DRV8832 seem to be the best choice to drive a 3V DC brushed geared (final drive 3rpm) to be the actuator for a door flap controller. From the data sheet there are a couple of questions.

1. Is Vref active in SLEEP mode? (So it can be used as Vref to another op-amp)

2. FAULTn: Sec 9.2, on exiting SLEEP mode this pin pulses low, (why?) BUT for how long. (tILIM?)

Thanks

Tim

  • Hi Tim,

    1. Is Vref active in SLEEP mode? (So it can be used as Vref to another op-amp)

Please refer to Table 3 of the datasheet, which states the internal circuits are disabled in sleep mode.

    2. FAULTn: Sec 9.2, on exiting SLEEP mode this pin pulses low, (why?) BUT for how long. (tILIM?)

The FAULTn pin is monitoring the internal circuits during exit from sleep mode. It typically will pulse low for less than 1ms as the internal circuit stabilizes.
