DRV10983: Motor speed display

Part Number: DRV10983

When I used DRV10983EVM with GUI, motor speed display shows a speed in wrong RPM.

Motor : Runtian_ZWL12_22_2p5A

OS : Windows 10 (64b)

Have you ever had same situation?

We have same problem too . actual measurment is 2700 rpm and motor is 9 pole ,the GUI setting refer is below .

Hello Prarinya and na na 78,

It is a known issue that this version of the GUI does not display the correct RPM amount. Essentially, the equation for the RPM box is incorrect. You can hover over the box and see the equation.

Pls help me again , Pls find the way to see motor speed (rpm ) in GUI is corrent of DRV10983-Q1 version V3.3.4 .

If you have new version of GUI pls share to me to fixed bug of motor speed (rpm) in GUI .

Hey Prarinya,

Because our GUI is old and outsourced, it requires a timeline, budget, and scheduling to update to V3.3.5. Unfortunately, we will have to use one of the other methods to calculate RPM.

To reiterate the answer posted on the other forum, RPM=60*f_electricalHz/(#polepairs). You can read the "Motor Speed" box, convert the "Electrical Period" box to Hz, monitor the frequency of FG, or monitor the frequency of the U Phase current to obtain the electrical frequency (f_electricalHz). Then, the equation can be used to obtain RPM, assuming the poles were measured or obtained from a motor datasheet.
