Hey guys,
I am currently working on an ESC for a BLDC. I use drv8302 as my main IC . I created a PCB according to the schematic attached. I have only driven M_OC (HIGH), EN_GATE (HIGH), INH_A,_INl_A, INH_B, INL_B, INH_C, INL_C pins with the help of an external microcontroller (ESP32). The motor ran perfectly. However, I started to connect other pins. Vref to 3.3V (HIGH), GAIN(HIGH) and SO1 to ADC to my microcontroller. Other than these pins, I left them floating. After a short period my setup was not working any more. The main IC was not responsive to any inputs (BUCK converter side is working fine). Then I discovered my EN_GATE (HIGH) pin was drawing current as high as 0.07 amps at (PVDD1 = 24V DC). When I lower my PVDD1 voltage to below 15-16 V EN_GATE current goes up to 0.22 amps. I believe my ic is now broken. To be honest I am not really sure the ic broke because of my tinkering with pins. I really appreciate any comments on my situation. If my explanation is not clear enough, I can rephrase my problem with your questions.
