Hello TI Team,

This is Divya.......

I m a fresher who is using these kind of driver IC's . so i have lot of doubts which might looks bit basic. Please help me in clarifying it.

1. IS this driver IC can be used for both sensor(using hall effect senor) and sensor less (using back emf ) technique?

2. this IC contain buck regulator and current shunt amplifier along with the 3 phase gate driver. can i keep the buck regulator and current shunt amplifier has open and use only 3 phase gate driver?

3. is it necessary to connect all the pins such as enable, nfault, sdi, sclock, SDO,SDI pins ?

Divya,

1. yes, both are supported.
2. The device comes in 4 variants, with or without Buck, and with or without CSA. The DRV8350 (non-R) does not have the CSA or the regulator. The DRV8353R has both CSA and Regulator.
3. Some of the pins can be connected only if needed, for example if SPI is not needed then most of those pins can be disconnected. Other pins such as the nfault pin are helpful to sense if there is a fault condition. I would follow the application section in the datasheet. Also you can use DRV8350H since it supports hardware mode which is more simple to connect and control.

hello Sir,

i am looking for some basics of sensorless BLDC motor, its working and method of detecting the back emf. it would be help full if u can share some of the details or pdfs of application note or white papers on this topic
