Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8308
We have an application for a Three-Phase Brushless DC Motor Driver. We are considering the DRV10970 but are open to other suggestions including those requiring external MOSFETs.
The application will use a 12V 5000 RPM BLDC motor with a power of about 10W max.
The BLDC has integrated Hall sensors
The key design issues are efficiency (because of available supply power) and wide speed range controllability.
We would like to be able to control the motor speed from (1-2%) to 100%.
Questions:
1) Is this part appropriate?
2) Is the desired speed range achievable
We would like to use a simpler part that does not require extensive programming
