I have a DRV8301-HC-EVM Rev D scheme.

Is DRV8301 SPI necessary?

When I drove the motor without SPI Circuit, motor worked well.

Why is the DRV8301 SPI used?

    There are default values in the SPI registers. If these default values match your application req, the motor will spin.
    Default values are marked as (1) Default value in the datasheet.

    The SPI is necessary if you wish to configure the driver using an MCU.
    If you prefer not to , you may consider DRV8302
