DRV10983: wrong kt value

Part Number: DRV10983

hello

I am using DRV10983 IC for my bldc ceiling fan application.

What happens if I give wrong kt value and Resistance to IC?

as I have given but IC is runned for few hours.

after that electricity is cut, when electricity is on , Wattage shown is upto 107W but I designed to 40W.

Ic is burnt out.

  • Giving the wrong kt and rm will commutate and spin the motor improperly which can lead to problems such as the motor possibly having currents above its and the IC's rated values. It might spin the motor, but will spin it inneficiently which may cause problems. The DRV10983 system of locks helps stop the motor spinning when before these problems, such as overcurrent protection. Please enter the correct Rm and Kt, or estimate it using the methods in the datasheet (www.ti.com/.../drv10983.pdf) and tuning guide (www.ti.com/.../slou395d.pdf).
