Driver Recommendation for Electrotactile Haptic Feedback?

Hi,

I am a developer who's trying to develop an electrotactile haptic feedback system (haptic feedback system using different waveforms of electrical signal).

In regards, I am looking for any recommendations for haptic drivers that could be used for this case? Since all the haptic motor drivers offered by TI are for either ERM, LRA, Peizo or solenoid actuators, I am having a hard time deciding which (if any) of the drivers would be apt for my use case.

To be more specific, I am using immobile electrodes as a means of a haptic "motor" and am aiming to deliver different waveforms of electrical signal/current to the electrodes to create a sensation of haptic feedback.

Thank you.

  • Hi, Jeremy,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

Our haptics devices selection depend of the kind of device that will be connected. We don't have a haptic device for the specific purpose that you are looking for. However, you may take a look at our Actuator Drivers Folder ( www.ti.com/.../actuators.html ) and compare the devices per load. If you see a device with some characteristics that you are looking for, please let us know and we will provide additional support for the selected actuator driver and your applications.

    Have a good day!

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
