DRV8834: How does it recognize Hi-Z on the M0/M1 inputs?

Part Number: DRV8834
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA6416A

I want to connect two TC6416A ports to the M0/M1 ports of the DRV8834.

In order to be able to set all different step sizes for the DRV8834 in indexer mode, I need three different states on the M0/M1 pins: high, low, Hi-Z.

The TCA6416A is able to set its output/input to Hi-Z by disabling the high side and low side FETs.

Is this enough for the DRV8834 to recognize the Hi-Z state?

How does the Hi-Z recognition by the DRV8834 work internally?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Kind regards

Daniel
