    Hi Ogasawara-san,

    The current regulation of the DRV8873H is set to 6.5A, and cannot be changed.

    The nITRIP can enable or disable the current regulation.

    If the current regulation is disabled, please refer to the following note:

    Texas Instruments recommends the load current not exceed 8 A during normal operation. If slew rate setting of 2.6 V/µs (SR = 111b) is used when the load current is about 8 A, choose TOFF to be either 40 µs or 60 µs.

    For the DRV8873H, the toff is set to 40us. So it is important to use slew rate faster than 2.6 V/us when the load current is about 8A.

     Is recommendation to connect SR terminal to DVDD?

    Hi Ogaswara-san,

    No. The recommendation at high currents is to either float the SR pin (13V/us typical) or connect the SR pin to GND (53.2V/us).

    Using 13V/us or 53.2V/us will minimize the power dissipation as the FETs are enabled.
