I am developing a drone and new to motor drivers and speed controllers. I am looking for a reference design

that will fit a motor like the 110KV-Q936N40P. I developing the drone for long duration missions. It need about 20-50 Watt to stay a float and 200-400 watt for take off and the climb.

I am looking for a high efficiency motor driver and speed controller. Can you help my selecting a reference design to get started

Hi John,

Take a look at this reference design that was released recently: 25.2-V, 30-A High-speed sensorless (> 100 krpm) brushless DC motor drive reference design

From the specs on this motor that I found, its max continuous current is 25A and max continuous power is 750W, which is right in the range for this reference design. The motor driver used is the DRV8320, and there are variants to this device based on your needs. You can also see other suggestions on our solutions page.
