Hi,

Out customer needs touch feedback on the products, and the needs the feature perform short period vibration (the same performance with IPHONE's touch feedback of alarm function)

Is this requirement could be done by using LRA and DRV2603? Or need DRV2605?

Hi, chentsu,

I would recommend the DRV2625 for high performance haptic systems.

However, we don't have the details about the acceleration profile of the iPhone, so there's no way to answer.

In order to provide a better response we would need of additional information about the application you are looking for: LRA to be used, LRA mounting, voltage supplied to the driver, duration of the click, acceleration target. This information would be useful to have a better approach to the application that you require.

Hi Luis,

Thanks for your help. Here are 2 questions:

1. What's the feature or parameter that makes DRV2625 better than DRV2605 for the application?

2. Due to this a RFQ, there are no detail spec, but could you hlep to try IPHONE's alerm setting and try to slide the HOUR or MINUTE bar, the feeling is what end-custoer want.

Hi, chentsu,

1.- Basically, the DRV2625 and DRV2605 share the same features. However, the DRV2625 has additional characteristics that allow more power saving and battery monitoring.

2.- Unfortunately, we cannot provide support in this way. We would need the parameters and details that I mentioned in my previous post ( LRA to be used, LRA mounting, voltage supplied to the driver, duration of the click, acceleration target, etc) in order to replicate this effect or provide some suggestions.

Our customer find out a LRA spec for reference, could you help to check that DRV2625 could work well with this LRA?

Hi, chentsu,

Thank you again for providing the details about the LRA.

I got more information from the team. It seems that in order to achieve a similar effect than the Alarm (short period vibration), you would require an LRA that supports a higher operating voltage. It should be an approached value of 6Vrms to get the correct strength in the vibration. However, our haptics devices cannot handle this kind of operating voltage so we could only get an approached effect with less strength. If this is not a inconvenient, then the DRV2625 could handle this LRA without any issue.
