DRV2605: Create own wavefrom apart from the 123 Immersion licensed waveforms

Part Number: DRV2605
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2604,

Hi Haptics team

I would like to have information on drivers for LRA.

If you have any information then please let me know. Thank you.

  • Hi Suraj,

    Welcome to e2e.
DRV2604 is the same as DRV2605, but with a programmable memory where you can store your own effects.
Haptics Control Console can be used to generate the effects and program the RAM memory in DRV2604.

  • Hello Ivan,

Thank you for your response. I believe DRV2604 is required for the application I am working on, i.e., to create my own effects.

As I would like to drive multiple LRAs simultaneously, could you please help me out with the circuit. Do I need to use a multiplexer or a port extender to have multiple GPIO ports? As each LRA requires one DRV2604 driver, how will I be able to control multiple LRAs independently?

PS: I cannot use the evaluation module unfortunately for my application.

  • Hi Suraj,

If you want to control each driver independently then you would indeed need a mux for I2C lines, as DRV2604 doesn't have address selector.

  • Hello,

I was wondering if something like this would work, or as the drivers have the same address, this would not be feasible? Could you please help me with how the circuit would look like
? This might be a silly question and I apologize.

    Thank you.
