DRV8824: DRV8824

Part Number: DRV8824

Hi Leader:

                     About  DRV8824(Motor Driver)

Q1:Would you tall me the DECAY function?

Q2:How use the DECAY PIN  design the Motor driver  function?

thank you

  • Hi Chihlung,

The DRV8824 DECAY function regulates the current in the stepper. This allows the system voltage (VM) to be much higher than the rated voltage in the stepper. Using higher VM voltage provides more torque at higher speeds.

The DECAY pin sets the current profile for the motor. Increasing/Decreasing decay modes are slow/slow, slow/mixed, or slow/fast. Increasing current is defined as current changing from 0 to 100% or from 0 to -100%. Decreasing current is defined as current changing from 100 to 0 or from -100% to 0.
