DRV11873: PIN function of DRV11873

Part Number: DRV11873

Hi,

Customer has three questions need your help.

1. Could you please tell me if 11873 can be directly arranged with high and low levels of FR pin to control steering? I found that positive and negative rotation of the motor would have FR connect to the resistor or capacitor to the ground.

2. Can RD pin be used as feedback to determine the driving state instead of being connected to the resistor for VCC, or set to idle?

3. What is the performance impact of ungrounded back of the chip?

  • 1) When you say "I found that positive and negative rotation of the motor would have FR connect to the resistor or capacitor to the ground". which resistor capacitor are you talking about?. Also please review datasheet section 8.3.5 Reverse Spin Control FR. It says that FR state latches on startup and can only be reset after pwmin is pulled low for a certain amount of time.
    2) Can you calrify what you mean by driving state? RD pulls low during normal operation, and then stops pulling low during lock condition.
    3) It will affect thermal performance. You can see this e2e post as a reference. https://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/msp430/f/166/t/96180?Thermal-Pad-to-Ground-

  • Hey Annie,

I haven't heard from you in a couple of days. Any followup needed?

    Sincerely,
    Sanmesh U.
  • Hi Sanmesh ,

There is no any feedback from customer. You'd better close this post and thanks for your help.
