Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8320, DRV832X
Hello!
I've ordered 3x "BOOSTXL-DRV8320S" from Mouser, and (after the issues written below) 2x "BOOSTXL-DRV8320S" from DigiKey.
- All packages contain a valid DRV8320S label on the outside, and all seals were/are okay.
- I opened two of them for evaluation.
- As the SPI connection "didn't work" (no data transfer from DRV back to µC), we looked over code, investigated conections, etc.
- Finally we looked at chip markings on the eval-board and we've seen "DRV8320H" on the boards - therefore no communication.
My questions are now:
- Is there always a "H" chip version on the boards (for both BOOSTXL-DRV8320S and H)?
- Should I solder the "S" chip version onto the boards?
- Should I notify Mouser and DigiKey for sending me the wrong boards? The labels are okay, they say "DRV8320S" but the chip is "DRV8320H". I doubt a bit that both of them giving out wrong boards - independently from each other. That's the reason I ordered the second two of them from DigiKey, just to be sure...
PS: If this is "normal" I would like to know which spec/datasheet I should read, e.g. where is this documented. I've read multiple times the manual of DRV832x and BOOSTXL manuals (both H and S, seems they are the same), but I must have missed this then.
Thank you in advance for trying to answer my questions,
kind ragards,
Stefan Schmid
