Motor Jitter at Start-up Instant with Heavy Load (Nearly Closed to Rotation Blockage)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8301

#define USER_ZEROSPEEDLIMIT   (0.5 / USER_IQ_FULL_SCALE_FREQ_Hz)

The actual test found that: USER_ZEROSPEEDLIMIT value is too large (greater than 2.0) is more likely to jitter, too small (less than 0.5), motor startup is weak, instantaneous overcurrent, routine default value of 0.5, has not yet found a suitable value, which value of this parameter is better to start with load?

  • This is the value where the angle transitions from force angle to FAST estimation. Our recommended value is that - a recommendation. You will need to decide for your system what a good transition point is. You will need some force angle to deal with zero speed, full torque startup unless you are using some other IPD algorithm. Too low a value and the estimator won't be able to calculate the angle from lack of back EMF and will likely cause the overcurrent trip you are seeing
