DRV2603: How to evaluate if a motor is compatible to DRV2603

Part Number: DRV2603

Hi team,

My customer wants to use our DRV2603 to drive a motor. The motor spec. is as below. Could you please evaluate if this motor is compatible to DRV2603 and which spec should be considered. Thanks.

Resistance: 8+-15% ohm

Rated input voltage: 0.8Vrms AC, Sinewave

Rated current: Max 110mArms@0.8Vrms AC, sinewave, F0

Resonance Frequency: (190+-10)Hz

Acceleration: Min 1.0Grms@F0, 0.8Vrms AC, 100g Jig

Rising time: Max 40ms(from 0% to 50% normal acceleration)

Falling time: Max 60ms(from 100% to 50% normal acceleration)

Weight: (1.7+-0.1) gram

Best regards,

Wayne

  • Hi, Wayne,

This motor seems to be supported by the DRV2603 device.

When considering an actuator, it is important to verify that all the load specifications are supported by the actuator driver. In this case, the most important parameters to consider are:

    - The supported resonant frequency: the DRV2603 supports 140 to 220 Hz.
    - The load impedance: 8ohms minimum.
    - The output voltage at full-scale: 2.2Vrms (typ).

The specifications that you shared seem to be supported by the DRV2603 without any issue.

Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments on this.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.
