DRV8876: Input pulse width to ensure detection

Part Number: DRV8876

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DRV8876?

On the DRV8870's datasheet, there is the description "The voltages applied to the inputs should have at least 800 ns of pulse width to ensure detection."

So, does DRV8876 have the same restriction for input?
If it has the same restriction, how much is it? 700ns?
And then, is this input width restriction for only DRV8876?

As the background of this question, we would like to know the usable duty cycle range which depends on PWM frequency.

Kind regards,

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hirotaka-san,

I checked one DRV8876EVM. From the test,  DRV8876 OUTx pulse width jittering could be 600ns, I would say INx should have at least 800 ns of pulse width to ensure detection. Also, it should not be used for small duty cycle control due to 600ns OUTx jittering.
