DRV8833: About measuremen value t of IVMQ

Part Number: DRV8833

Dear all,

Could you give me some advice about the following content.

Our customer measured  IVMQ (VM=6.0V) with the following circuit.

※they connected the analog ammeter to the red circle part of above circuit and measure IVMQ

※Our customer's situation

VM=6.0V

VIN1,VIN2=3.3V

NSLEEP=Low

C4:ceramic capacitor

As result of the measurement, the value of IVMQ is 0.8μA

However, According to Datasheet p.7 Figure.2 "Sleep Current",it seems to be about 5μA at VM=6.0V.

Our customer would like to know the cause of this difference.

It would be great if you could let me know your thoughts this cause.

  • Ottey-san,

    The datasheet figure 2 just shows the trend of the sleep mode current. There is a knee point when the quiescent current goes up. This knee point could be different lot by lot.

    On the spec table, the quiescent current is lower than 2.5uA at 5V VM. That is for sure.
