DRV8343-Q1: Load dump questions

Hi Team,

I am promoting DRV8343-Q1 to my customer, the R&D has some questions regarding load dump for 24V system.

1. Recommended operation voltage of VVM is 50V, can it sustain load dump test and the peak voltage is 53V?

2. VVM transient voltage can be up to 60V, does it mean this part can pass load dump test? What is the duration for VM over 50V?

    Hi Vincent,

    The device is intended for 12–V and 24–V battery automotive system with life-time nominal voltage of 5.5 V - 50 V
    Product life time depends on VM voltage.

    The device can be operated during additional overvoltage events as specified in ISO16750-2:2012 and by referring to the Abs max table.

    So, yes, this part can pass the 24V load dump test of 60V
