DRV8323: VSENSE Overcurrent Protection (SEN_OCP)

I am using a DRV8323S driver to control a BLDC motor. I have routed the three motor leads through one current sense resistor. Will the half-bridge overcurrent monitor (VSEN_OCP) work with one current sense resistor?

Richard,

Yes this should work fine but I would make sure that the combined low-side source connection for all three FETs has a strong connection to GND and is placed such that all three phases have an even path to the sense resistor and GND. The issue can be that if the low-side source connection of some of the FETS is worse than others, there can be inconsistency in the low-side source voltage which can effect the LS VGS which can cause gate drive faults.
