DRV8833: External resistance of nSLEEP and Input pin

Part Number: DRV8833

Dear all,

Our customer would like to know about pull-down resistor of nSLEEP and AINx, BINx pin.

According to datasheet, DRV8833 has internal pull-down resistor of nSLEEP and AINx, BINx pin.

Is there any case(application) that requires an external pull-down resistor pull-down resistor of these pin?

If this answer is Yes, please tell me about this case.

Especially for the nSLEEP pin, we concern that  there may be a possibility that the low signal may not be input due to the variation in the internal pull-down resistance.

Moreover,  there is not minimum and max value of internal pull-down resistance in datasheet.

It would be great if you could let me know your thoughts on the following the question.

Best regards,

Y.Ottey

  • Ottey,

From the input current spec, you can calculate the minimum value of that pulldown resistor. It is 3.3V/13uA= 206.25kohm. Similar calculation can be done on AINx and BINx. To me, I don't think customers need an extra pulldown resistor. But, if they want, they can reserve a pulldown resistor.
