TINA/Spice/DRV8323: Footprints for DRV8323

Part Number: DRV8323
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, DLP9000

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

From the customer:

I thought I used to be able to get TI footprints straight from digikey but could not so I got it directly from your website.  I export the files from ultralibrarian and when I try to import the library into Altium if fails with "NIL PcbLibDoc".  Can you send me the library files direct for Altium? or send me a fixed .bxl file.

I am also trying to get the DLP9000 symbol and footprint and have the same problems.  Perhaps I am doing something wrong.  Also should note I am using Altium version 18

  • Mike,

Let me check on this and get back to you.

  • Mike,

Here is the response from the librarian team:

“When encountering the “ProjDoc Save failed” error in the Altium Designer environment, this is typically due to a permissions issue. Altium needs to have administrator rights available in order to run the script file that generates the footprint and symbol files. When the ProjDoc is unable to save, this is typically due to the Altium software not having full administrator rights to the Altium program that will allow it to properly execute this script.

I would recommend consulting with your IT team to see if the Altium Designer software has the full administrator rights assigned to it. Allowing those rights should allow you to properly execute the Altium script. If you have already been assigned administrator rights to this program but are still having the ProjDoc Save error, I would recommend starting Altium by right-clicking on the .exe file and selecting “Run as Administrator”. That typically grants all permissions needed in order to run a script. “
