DRV8704: About the relation between TDRIVEP, TDRIVEN and DTIME

Our customer use the DRV8704 and have some questions about Figure 13. on the DS.

    Aoyama-san,

    Question 1: It is mentioned “High Z”.Is there any off resistor? or Does the DRV8704 have hold current?

    [Answer] According to Figure 14, DRV8704 provides a holding current in that High-Z period.

    Question 2: Is the Low Z period adjustable by the setting of the TDRIVEN? or Does the Low Z period finish at red dot line?

    Should the customer set the TDRIVEN longer than TDRIVEP + DTIME?

    [Answer] The Low Z period is adjustable by the setting of the TDRIVEN.

    DTIME is not related to TDRIVEN or TDRIVEP setting.TDRIVEN or TDRIVEP Is related to the gate capacitor and how quick does the customer want to turn on the FET.
