DRV8711: SPI mode

Part Number: DRV8711

Hi team,

According to Figure.1 in datasheet, SPI mode of DRV8711 looks like mode 0 and SCLK state when idle condition seems to be L.

Is this understanding correct?

Best regards,
Shota Mago

  • Hi Mago-san,

I am not sure I understand your question.

For SPI operation, please refer to section 7.5.

SCS is used to start and complete a SPI transaction to the DRV8711.

When SCS is a logic 0, the other SPI pins can be used to control other SPI peripherals.

SCLK, SDATI, and SDATO can toggle at any time when SCS is a logic 0.

  • Hi Rick-san

Thanks for your very quick reply for this thread and sorry for confusing you.

I think SPI has 4 modes(mode 0~3) depend on  clock polarity and clock phase.

Which SPI mode is employed at DRV8711?

According to section7.5, mode 0 is used at DRV8711.

    Is this understanding correct?

    Best regards,

    Shota Mago

  • Hi Mago-san,

    Thank you for the clarification.

You are correct. Mode 0 (CPOL = 0, CPH =0) should be used.
