DRV8847EVM: SBW Connector

I've purchased some of the DRV8847EVM Modules and plan to use these PCBs in a production environment. I need to make some minor adjustments to the code as was wondering if a SBW connector is shipped with these evaluation boards? My debugger is the MSP-FET.

If they do not come with an adapter, could you provide me with the PN for the 14pin to 4 pin adapter or provide me with the PNs of the connectors I will need to make this adapter?

Hi Joe,

Is it posible for you to utilize the MSP-EXP430G2? It can be purchased through third party vendors that currently have it in stock.

Hi Hector,

Unfortunately I can't. I need the motor drive chip and the DRV8847EVM fits perfectly for our application so I couldn't easily jumper from the MSP-EXP430G2 over to the connector on the DRV8847EVM. I'll need to be able to work with the MSP on the driver eval board. Good idea.

Hi Joe,

Let me clarify the proposal: the official way to program the on board MCU's firmware is by utilizing that board. To make it work, removie the MSP-EXP430G2 on board MCU IC1 and connect the J2 header of that board to the DRV8847EVM J1 header. See image below. Once those two PCBs are connected to each other, you can reprogram the EVM's on board MCU like if you were using the MSP-FET tool. The DRV8847EVM does not need to be powered on and only connection you need to interface PC to programming environment is the Mini USB cable for the MSP-EXP3430G2 board.
