DRV104: DRV104

Part Number: DRV104
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV103

Is there and under-current flag feature on the DVR104 ?  The figure on page one of the data sheet clearly shows "Thermal Shutdown, Over/Under Current". It seems there is only an over-current flag when the current exceeds  2 amps.  Is this correct ?   The previous version, the DRV102 had a undercurrent flag feature, but since it is being discontinued the DRV104 should be the updated replacement, or is there an iteration with an under-current flag feature.

  • Hi Scott,

Thanks for reaching out on E2E!

You're correct, the DRV104 only has an overcurrent flag on the Status OK pin. Unfortunately, our replacement devices (DRV103, DRV104), don't have an undercurrent flag.

May I ask why the undercurrent functionality is required for the system?

    Thanks,

    Arthur Huang

  • Hi Arthur,

    Thank you for your insight.

I'm using the DRV104s to drive a  bank of solenoids that feed a gas mixing manifold. The undercurrent was a usefully feature as it would indicate is the solenoid became disconnected of the coil burned out.
