DRV8889-Q1: Is it possible to input step signal during disable mode?

Part Number: DRV8889-Q1

Hello team,

This is Ochi. I would like to know the operation during disable mode and operating mode.

Is it possible to input step signal during disable mode? If it is possible, does electrical angle change potentially? I show you an example situation I would like to know what happens.

(1) Making DRV8889-Q1 disable mode from sleep mode.

(2) Next, making DRV8889-Q1 1/8 step mode while continued disable mode. Is it possible?

(3) Next, attaching the 12 step-signals while continued disable mode.  Is it possible? Then, output current is zero due to disable mode.

(4) Next, making DRV8889-Q1 operating mode. Then, Is electrical angle 45 degrees or 180 degrees?  does electrical angle change potentially while disable mode?

Best regards,

Ochi

Yes, the indexer is still operational when in Disable Mode. The indexer will advance to the next indexer state at the rising edge of the STEP input.

Yes, although the device is not in 1/8 step mode until the next rising edge of STEP.

    (3) Next, attaching the 12 step-signals while continued disable mode.  Is it possible? Then, output current is zero due to disable mode.

Yes. Assuming DIR = logic high, issuing 12 STEP pulses will enter 1/8 mode and advance to step 17 in the 1/8 STEP table.

    (4) Next, making DRV8889-Q1 operating mode. Then, Is electrical angle 45 degrees or 180 degrees?  does electrical angle change potentially whiledisable mode?

The electrical angle will be 180 degrees when entering Operating Mode.
