I'm Yuta Kurimoto TIJ FAE.

I got a question from customer about DRV8340H-Q1 Vds overcurrent function.

Q. How long does it take from Vds overcurrent function (Reaching Vds overcurrent threshold → Deglitch time(4.75us) →Internal gatedriver pulldown)

Customer's requirement is several micro second.

Yuta-San,

Sorry for the delay, we needed to run some tests to confirm.

The Total delay time includes: VDS comparator, Deglitch, and Output Pre-driver response time.

The VDS comparator and output pre-driver represent less than 200nS with the deglitch time being set by the user. The deglitch time is the majority of this total time with the deglitch time adjustable from 2.5-20.5uS typical.

Hello Adam,

Thanks for running the test and providing the good answer.

Our customer plan to use DRV8340(H)-Q1. This deglitch time is 4.75us(fixed value). Judging from your test results, the total response time will be less than 4.95us, it can meet customer's requirement.
