Summary
I am trying to use a DRV120 to drive an SMC LVM105R solenoid valve on a prototype board. The output is an unexpected result and the valve does not operate. The chip goes strait into PWM mode with no time for the current to rise.
Conditions
Valve connected is an SMC LVM105R. The spec are:
~4H (Unfortunately, the inductance of the valve is not given in their datasheet, but I estimate it to be ~4H).
2.5W in-rush,
1W holding,
34-ohm solenoid resistance

The DRV120 is configured for the maximum current with the following specs and schematic
DRV120APWR (14pin package)
V_IN = 12V
C_KEEP = 2.2uF
R_PEAK = 50k-ohm
R_HOLD = 50k-ohm
R_OSC = 100k-ohm
Output
When the EN pin goes high, the voltage a across the solenoid is measured and displayed bellow. The current is not allowed to rise, and the chip goes direclty to PWM mode. The solenoid does not actuate.
Questions
Can the DRV120 opperate this valve?
If so, what settings should we use?
Application
We are trying to get the chip working on a prototype board. The application is an insturment for a food safety application. We project purchasing the following number of DRV120's for this project:
2020 - 20k
2021 - 140k
2022 - 600k
