DRV10983-Q1: What is allowed Max & Min current of PWM Speed signal

Part Number: DRV10983-Q1

For DRV190983Q1

Q1. What is allowed Max & Min current of PWM Speed signal  ?

Q2. Can I use to input 5V PWM Speed signal to Speed pin ?

Q3. My customer design for Automotive seat cooling FAN

State of Motor and FAN Stand alone then Speed control is good ( Full Load)

But When Motor is installed at Plastic housing then DRV is more spent small current

The Installed Controller has some problem that is after Max High speed setup operating then can not speed to lower with speed signal of PWM

  • Hi Joseph,

"Q1. What is allowed Max & Min current of PWM Speed signal  ?"

I am not sure. Why do you want to know the Max & Min current? I have not had anyone ask me this before so I will have to look into it and get back to you.

"Q2. Can I use to input 5V PWM Speed signal to Speed pin ?"

No, the SPEED pin ABS MAX is 4V.

Q3. I am not understanding your question. Can you clarify this question for me?

    Regards,

    Michael

  • Q1. My customer should be to design for against EMI, ESD testing

That is meaning they install R filter. So They want to know Min current.

Q2. I had command to design with Zeno diode  for regulating voltage

Q3.  Good control when the motor drive is under full load.

However, after the over speed occurs at the proper load, the speed down command cannot be applied. What do you do in this case?
I passed the reference that I can reduce the R and KT values and ran the test. The result is that the target speed is not reached, but the speed can be adjusted after reaching the maximum speed.

  • Hi Joseph,

Q1. The DRV10983-Q1 SPEED pin is a Input pin that is high impedance so the input current should be negligible.

Q3. how are you trying to lower the speed? are you using the SPEED pin or are you using the register settings? You should not adjust R and Kt after you have the correct working values for KT and R. you should be adjusting the Advance angle to fine tune the motor.
