DRV8308: Separating VM and Motor power

Hello support team

Since motor voltage is less than 8.5V, we want to separate VM of DRv8308 and power supply for FET. Motor voltage is 5V.
If VM and motor power are separated, OCP will be happen because motor power is smaller than VM.
How can we prevent OCP? Can we disable OCP by using register OCPTH?

Thanks for posing on the Motor Drives Forum.

OCPTH cannot be disabled and it is also not recommended to separate VM from the FET supply.

Have you looked into using a device such as the DRV832x?
