DRV8350: Star point ground

Part Number: DRV8350
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5008A

Since this gate driver is a mixed signal IC – is it recommended/advised/permitted to use a point very close to the driver IC as the star grounding point reference for analog, digital and power (buck converter- LM5008A supply voltage) ground?

I did review TI’s best practices document- SLVA959A which does recommend to join high current and signal grounds at the star point – however it does not specifically mention if this is permitted close to the driver IC itself.
