DRV8343H-Q1EVM: Is there DRV8343H-Q1 EVM schematic?

Part Number: DRV8343H-Q1EVM

Hello Team,

I'm Yuta Kurimoto FAE from TIJ.

Q. Do you have DRV8343H-Q1 EVM schematic? (I only found DRV8343S-Q1 EVM schematic on TI.com, but I couldn't find Hardware version)

Q. Customer want to drive DRV8343H-Q1 EVM by customer's MCU. Do you know the guideline how to connect between DRV8343H-Q1 EVM and external MCU?

Thanks,

Yuta Kurimoto

  • Kurimoto-San,

These files should be posted on the EVM product page but the link is missing for some reason, let me get this corrected ASAP and I will comment back here.

    Regards,

  • Kurimoto-San,

Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention. We have corrected the missing files and they are now live on the two EVM pages:

    https://www.ti.com/tool/DRV8343S-Q1EVM

    and

    https://www.ti.com/tool/DRV8343H-Q1EVM

Both pages use the same files which include both variations:

    https://www.ti.com/lit/zip/slvc710

If possible could you please click the green "This resolved my issue" button?

    Regards,

    -Adam

  • Hello Adam,

Thanks for uploading the DRV8343H-Q1 EVM schematic.

But I still have a question about the connection between external MCU and DRV8343H-Q1.

    Q. Customer want to drive DRV8343H-Q1 EVM by customer's MCU. Do you know the guideline how to connect between DRV8343H-Q1 EVM and external MCU?

In order to connect the external MCU with DRV8343H-Q1 correctly, Do we need to remove any resistors between MSP430 and H3 Header?

    Thanks,

    Yuta Kurimoto

  • Hi Kurimoto-san,

Yes, to drive with an external MCU you'll need to disconnect the resistors between the MSP430 and the H3 connector. You don't have to remove them from every signal line, but you do need to remove them from every signal line that you want to use the external MCU for. For example, if you want to perform SPI configuration with the GUI, but use an external MCU for motor commutation, you would leave the SDI/SDO/SCLK/nSCS resistors installed, and disconnect the INHx/INLx resistors.

The H3 connector footprint is a standard 100mil header row, so the customer can even solder in the header themselves to make connecting to the external MCU easier.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
