DRV8805: motor can't spin using DRV8805

Hi,

customer use DRV8805 and found the motor can't spin. below are the OUT1 to OUT2 waveforms:

The power supply is 12V and SM0=0 SM1=1, 1-2 phase drive (half step), the PWM frequency is 1.33KHz. Motor only vibrates and can't move.

if the decrease the PWM frequency to 800Hz, the motor can move.

could you give suggestion what will cause the output has these pulse? thank you.

Hi Betty,

Does the customer use an acceleration profile when starting the motor?

Stepper motors typically require starting at a slower speed and increasing the speed to reach the target speed.

If starting at 1.33kHz, try starting at 600Hz, then increase the frequency to 1.33kHz.

How is the motor connected to outputs?

Can you provide a datasheet of the motor?
