Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV8912-Q1
Hi team,
My customer is using DRV8860 for steppers function, do we have other part has smaller package with same function? Because they want to reduce the PCB size.
Thanks.

Hi James,
The DRV8860 is available 5mm x 6.4 mm PW (TSSOP) and PWP (HTSSOP) packages only.
How many outputs are being used?
What is the stepper motor voltage?
What is the current?
Is the serial interface required?
Hi Rick,
It's nice to contact you again.
They have been using DRV8860PWR(TSSOP) for several years, and right now they're looking for a new device with smaller package.
I think they won't go with PWP package of DRV8860.
Customer have 4 unipolar stepper which need 16 channel, and currently they use two DRV8860 here.
The voltage is 12V, but I don't have the current information, and the serial interface is required.
Let me know if you have any updates, thanks.
James
Hi James,
Thanks for the additional information.
The best option is the PWP package which reduces the area by ~10 sq mm per device.
Hi Rick,
Apart from the DRV8860PWR, do we have other device for promote?
Thanks.
Hi James,
With the constraints you placed (smaller PCB size and serial interface), the DRV8860PWP is the best choice.
The closest match is the DRV8912-Q1 (7.8mm x 4.4mm) with 12 half bridge outputs. This device is not in production. Depending on the number of DRV8860, this could be an option.
