DRV10983: KT value abnormal with high speed

Hi Team,

DRV10983EVM is test with the GUI, the KT is read from the GUI and decreases when motor speed increases, the KT is 5.6 when motor speed is 2000rpm , but KT decreases to 1.2 when motor speed is 10000rpm which could trigger the KT abnormal protection. Could you please help analysis the possible reasons?

There is also a question about the required motor with IPD. The application need large torque when startup, should the motor be salient polarity?

    Hi Hao,

    I have noticed this on some of my motors in the lab as well that the device will read the KT as a different value depending on the motor speed. You should play around with the Control Coefficient Setting and the Lead Time you can also try to use a little lower KT even at low speeds as well.

    Can you explain your question more clearly. I am not familiar with motor's "salient polarity"?
