DRV2605: embedded haptic effects adjust

Part Number: DRV2605
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRV2604, DRV2624

The effect can be modified by adjusting these four parameters, but is it a unified modification of all 123 vibration effects? Does it support modifying a single vibration of all 123 vibration effects?

(for example, I only want to extend the duration of the strong click, but I don't want to modify other vibration effects.)

  • Hi,

Welcome to E2E and thank you for your interest in our products!

All the waveforms have predefined duration and cannot be modified. As mentioned in section 11.1 ( http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/drv2605.pdf#page=57 ), there are some restrictions to modify these library waveforms.

However, if you are interested in create your own effects, you may take a look at our DRV2604 or DRV2624. Both devices support RAM memory which can be used to create your own waveforms with amplitude-time pairs.

I hope this helps you. Please let me know if you have additional questions or comments on this.

    Best regards,
    Luis Fernando Rodríguez S.

  • The preset effect can be modified by these four parameters(ODT,SPT,SNT,BRT). I mean, after modifying these four parameters, all 123 preset effects will be modified uniformly or it can only be modified for specific preset effects(like the Strong click effects only)

  • Hi,

Thank you for the clarification about the four parameters. Yes, all the 123 preset effects will be modified uniformly since all these parameters are linked to the registers addresses 0x0D to 0x10. Unfortunately, there's no way to modify these parameters on each effect individually.

    Best regards,
