DRV2625: what is the relationship between motor's OUT+ and OUT-

Part Number: DRV2625

dear Ti expert,

for DRV2625 ,whether use bult-in library or use RTP mode , in my opinion, data is  sent to drv2625's input through i2c bus  and  playback engine in drv2625 outputs pwm waveform modulated in 20.5kHz automatically ,right? then my question is:

1.what is the relationship between the two ouputs OUT+ and OUT-? is it just complementary PWM or other?

2.if i got  waveform for OUT+ and OUT-  or acceleration  by oscilloscope,is it enough for me to design the input for  this control system ? that is to say ,can i deduce the input from output?

i can't find detailed descriptions for this in datasheet. can you kindly detail it for me ? thanks

  • Hi Jack,

Outputs are complementary PWM, it is a Class-D driver.

Regarding Q2, you can try to guess the input from the output effect, although there are 123 different effects in the built-in library. If you're planning to use closed-loop mode, you should consider the device applies overdrive and braking based on its configuration.

  • dear ivan,

thank you very much. you mentioned that  "you should consider the device applies overdrive and braking based on its configuration."

i found below in drv2625 datasheet:

    8.6.8.3 Closed-Loop Mode
In closed-loop mode, the DRV2625 device provides automatic overdrive and braking for both ERM and LRA
    devices.

so what you said should be open-loop?

  • Jack,

That's actually what I meant, in closed-loop the device applies overdrive and braking automatically, based on its configuration.
If you want to guess the input based on the output, you should consider these effects.
