DRV8825: Amp @ 11.1V

Part Number: DRV8825

Hi,

According to the datasheet the DRV8825 is capable of driving up to 2.5A with 24V and proper cooling coditions.

I was expecting a graph of other voltages an their maximum current. I'm using 11.1V, could someone tell me what the maximum amp can be with this voltage?

Best regards,

Dukel

  • Hello Dukel,

We will research this and get back to you by Friday 27th.

Due to holiday break, responses will be delayed. Thank you in advance for your patience.

  • Hello Dukel,

The continuous output current capability is related to the board thermal performance. The thermal performance is decided by PCB layout; ambient temperature; PWM frequency; input voltage... Since your desired input voltage (11.1V) is less than 24V, the thermal performance should become better and the device should be able to drive up to 2.5A with the proper cooling conditions

To evaluate or estimate the thermal performance, please set the maximum input voltage; maximum PWM frequency; highest ambient temperature. And then, run your board to see what is the maximum load condition when the board or DRV8825 gets to the maximum allowing temperature?

  • Thanks Pablo,

I will cool it properly and check what I will get.

    Best regards,

    Dukel
