DRV8305: Question about DRV8305 ground

Hi Sir,

Customer is making hardware design based on below document.

Best Practices for Board Layout of Motor Drivers( http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva959a/slva959a.pdf )

While the device used in document has some difference with DRV8305. They want to confirm if red circle part is correct?

And if anything wrong in below picture about ground related?

Hi Jacky,

I would suggeget that the VCP_LSD cap(C16) should go to COM, C41 should go to COM. The most important thing is not the names on the nets but the actual physical layout of the components. The C41 is filtering the voltage supplying the DRV8305's charge pumps and regulators so you want this cap to have a short return path. VCP_LSD should also have a return path so placing this cap close to the chip will help the chip operate efficiently. If you want to look at an example of how we layout the DRV8305 the EVM's layout is a great example. www.ti.com/.../slvc626
