DRV10983: Speed setting

Hi,

Customer is evaluating their motor with DRV10983EVM through GUI.

But rpm is not increased above 5000rpm. when they use other driver, it is increased by 5400rpm.

Customer is using 6 slots and 8 pole.

Can it be limited by resolution?

if customer using 4 pole, can it be increased to above 5000rpm?

I attached motor configuration.

Hi David,

When the DRV10983EVM is driving the motor with the max speed command is the DRV10983 commanding 100% duty cycle? you can check this by reading the Speed Cmd Buffer.

A couple of things to try is to go back and re follow the DRV10983 tuning guide :https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slou395d/slou395d.pdf

If that does not work try different Kt settings and different Lead Time settings.
